Behind the Camera: Tropical Storm Fay

Have you ever wondered how to entertain five-year-old twins during a tropical storm? Well, the cabin fever finally got to DH and he just went outside to tramp around in the river...I mean backyard...and, of course, the girls wanted to follow. So what the heck, we aren’t dealing with lightning and thunder right now, so we might as well let them get outside and burn off some energy. Though I’m not sure how much energy DH pulling them around in the kayak in the backyard is burning. You can click on the photo to enlarge. So far, we’re doing fine. We’ll have some minor (hopefully) flooding, but I don’t think it will get to the stage it was during the back-to-back storms we had in 2004, when it was all I could do to keep DH from paddling his kayak across the street, and we were a mere inch from the water making it into the house. Obviously, we’re out of school today (and haven’t lost power yet), and it looks like we’ll be out of school tomorrow as well, so I’m sure we’ll have a few more shenanigans before Fay leaves us. Hope those of you in the area are weathering the storm okay.
